BC Coilover suspension tuning – Neon/SRT-4/Caliber/Cobalt

If you have a set of BC coilovers and want to make some changes to the spring rates on one of the following vehicles:

1995-2005 Dodge/Plymouth Neon
2003-2005 Dodge SRT-4
2008-2010 Dodge Caliber SRT-4
2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS

Then Modern Performance can help ! FIRST off, before reading further, please understand that MOST of our customers will NEVER need to change spring rates on the BC coilovers, but if after driving your car you feel a need for a different spring rate we can help.

We have made BC coilover adjustments to both our 1995 Neon with SRT-4 swap as well as our 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt in the last week.

Both vehicles have the PROTOTYPE BC coilovers, and came with a higher rate spring than we’d like. Take for example our 1995 Neon.

It originally had 336 ft lb front springs and 224 rear springs. The front was too harsh, and the rear was too soft. So, we were able to source SWIFT custom coilover springs and we put in 300 ft lb front springs, essentially lowering the front by 36 ft lbs, or just about 11%, and we increased the rear springs to 250 ft lbs, or increased the spring rate by just about 10%.

This made a nice difference in the ride quality and our 1995 Neon is handling around corners like a champ, and its still comfortable over bumps!

If you’d like to consult with us about custom spring rates, give us a call.

Thanks
