Now, keep in mind, that for 98% of our customers, we feel that the factory spring rates that come with the factory built BC coilovers are perfect. However, if you have some special needs, custom spring rates come into effect.
Here are some examples of what we’ve done recently:
95-99 Neon owner has a drag race car with about 450 hp and wants to improve his traction at the dragstrip and prevent the rear end from squatting under severe acceleration.
– We had a set of custom BC coilovers made with 448 ft lb springs in the front, and 996 ft lb springs in the rear. This will totally eliminate any squatting of the rear with 996 ft lb springs in the rear! (factory spring rate from BC is 336 ft lb front and 224 ft lb rear!)
Another example:
95-99 Neon owner has an autocross car and wants to improve handling.
– We had a set of custom BC coilovers made with 560 ft lb front and 392 ft lb rear. (factory spring rate from BC is 336 ft lb front and 224 ft lb rear)
