Threw a rod. Broke a rod. Rod shot out of my block. It’s said in different ways but it usually means the same thing, rod failure. Rods like those found in the SRT are pretty beefy and can last a long time. The weak spot is where the rod cap is cracked held in place on the crank with bolts. When stock bolts are torqued down there is a good amount of stretch so if you need to remove them, they can’t be reused. ARP bolts are constructed from ARP2000 alloy steel and specially treated to last through multiple installs. These bolts are also slightly longer for more thread depth. ARP hardware brings strength and peace of mind.
