Installing a intake manifold gasket on a 2003-2005 Dodge SRT-4 ? READ THIS !

We’re posting this blog today, because of a error a customer of ours made when installing a intake manifold gasket onto his 2003-2005 Dodge SRT4. We hope that by publishing this, we can help prevent others from making the same mistake.

First off, wether your installing a SRT-4 factory intake manifold gasket, or a Hondata intake manifold gasket for your SRT-4, it doesnt matter. We are only discussing the arrangement of the gasket today.

Heres a photo of the Hondata gasket. Looks identical, with no major changes on any side, and the bolt spacing looks the same right?

WRONG!

Although the gasket looks the same on both sides, the tab on the right is thicker, and shorter, than the tab on the left which is longer and skinnier. If you dont install it correctly, this is what will happen.

This is a gasket that was damaged by improper installation.

We’ve had two seperate customers install their Hondata gaskets backwards, and it will cause a nasty intake leak and loss of power if installed incorrectly! It may seem as if this should be a simple task, however, sometimes when your installing parts in a dimly lit garage, and its 2am and your tired from a long day at work, simple mistakes like this can happen!

This is what the gasket should look like when installed correctly:
