Photos of a rare car a friend stopped by in. A 1980’s Consulier GTP!

These are photos of a friends Consulier GTP.
This car is one of about 85 made, and its a carbon kevlar monocoque chassis car. Its not a tube frame car, and its powered by a 1980’s Chrysler 2.2 Turbo engine, and rear wheel drive! It weighs in at about 2200 lbs and has about 250 horsepower in its current state.

This car in the 80’s dominated several race classes to the point that it was eventually banned from competition because it did so well on the racetrack.

A few years ago the factory closed down, and our friend, Johnny Spiva from Oregon bought this car that was an unfinished shell. He built some replacement parts for it that were not available and he now has a very rare, corner carving machine!

Notice the water inside the car? Thats because Johnnys homemade targa opening cover doesnt work so well in the rain! =(

This is a Chrysler 2.2 turbo engine, and if you look closely you can see it has a MPx throttle body designed for the 1995-1999 Dodge Neon installed on it!

The rear panel is a huge radiator! Yes, those are radiator fans that pull air through the wide radiator.
