03-05 Neon SRT4 erratic idle, inconsistent throttle (details on how to FIX)

Email from customer
“Hi I was wondering if u could help me out I have an 05 srt4, I’m havin a weird idle problem when I’m at a complete stop. My idle jumps up to 1400 and go down to 1000 and jumps around, also if I’m driving and cruising around and I take my foot of the gas the car doesn’t slow down it seems to like glide even when I down shift it seems to hold at the rpm and barely goes down any idea guys?”

This is a well known problem with the SRT4. The wiring that goes to the TPS sensor on the throttle body has a sharp bend, and it creates problems because the wiring breaks down and malfunctions. This then creates odd surging, and erratic idle.

Theres an easy fix for this, its the Mopar TPS rewire kit.

Want to see if your wiring has gone bad? Its easy to check!
TEST YOUR CAR BY LETTING YOUR CAR IDLE WITH THE HOOD OPEN, AND JIGGLING THE WIRES GOING TO EITHER THE TPS WIRING (TPS CONNECTS TO THE THROTTLE SHAFT, AND THE IAC IS OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE THROTTLE BODY). IF EITHER WIRING WHEN JIGGLED MAKES A CHANGE IN YOUR IDLE THEN REPLACE THE WIRING!
