Here are some close up photos of the selector cover on the Neon SRT transmission.
A quick glance may miss that something is wrong but a closer look…
This shift selector tab has broken off and fallen into the gears of the transmission. Sometimes the piece misses everything and gets to the bottom of the case but it can also end up causing damage to the teeth.
The perfect replacement is an AGP Billet Shift Selector!
Replacing the selector doesn’t make the rest of the pieces indestructible though, other parts can still break if put under too much stress or wear. Shifting with speed can be accomplished without abusing the transmission parts too much, so remember to take it easy on those shifts!
