Drilling into Carbon Fiber hoods – how to install wiper nozzles into Carbon Fiber hoods

If you have ever bought a carbon fiber hood, you probably know that most CF hoods do not come with washer nozzles installed. So, if you want to have washer nozzles on your car to spray bugs off your window, you’ll need to do the following.

1) check the underhood area, look for areas cutout in the underbracing. Most hoods have areas cut out to make installing the nozzles easier.
2) measure the distance from the back and sides of the hood to the cutout area. Then, mark it off with blue painters tape to protect the hood, and to prevent from splintering.
3) after you have made sure that the holes are spaced out, and lined up correctly, use a small drill bit to make a pilot hole. Do NOT press hard as it will splinter the clear coat.
4) progressively go larger until you have drilled out the hole large enough for the washer nozzle. Sometimes you’ll need to use a file to make the hole slightly larger.

REMEMBER – take your time and be careful. You cannot reverse a hole drilled too big!
