Change your own oil in your Cobalt ? Want to reset the CHANGE OIL SOON light?

Own a 2005-2010 Cobalt and change your own oil, or have a local oil change place change your oil ?

If so, then more than likely the change oil light will come on in your instrument cluster reminding you to change your oil. Most Chevrolet dealerships will reset the warning, but if you do your own oil change you’ll have to reset it yourself.

So, heres the procedure to reset the oil change warning light after you change your oil.

Turn the ignition key on (don’t start) and depress the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.

Pretty simple isnt it ? Hope this helps a few of you guys out there!
