What do I need to do to run a E85 tune in my Neon SRT-4, Caliber SRT-4?

We get asked this question a lot so we’ll do our best to cover it here in a brief summary.

E85 is a grade of fuel that is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline by volume.

E85 fuel when tuned for in a performance ecu/pcm calibration can yield more power than standard 93 octane gas. E85 can make more power and torque than 93 octane, so lots of motorists wanting more power end up utilizing E85 and its associated tune.

Now, in a nutshell, this is what is neccesary to run E85 properly:

  • Larger fuel injectors
  • Diablosport tuner
  • Custom Diablosport tune. Not the tune that the Diablosport comes with, you will need to have a custom tune written by a custom tuner.
  • Improved fuel pump

Each custom Diablosport tuner has their own unique requirements, so its best to start a discussion with a custom tuner to see what style of injectors and other associated parts they want.

Its a sad day to see a first gen Neon we worked on, in the junkyard soon to be crushed.
