Modern Performance
Modern Performance will be participating in the 2009 24 Hours of Lemons Race on October 24th and 25th this year at the Motorsports Ranch in south Houston.8
We raced in this event last year and were 23rd out of 78 cars, with many of our employees never having ANY racing experience. This year we’ll have a team that has a lot more experience, and we’ll be putting on better tires compared to last year.
Here are some quick specs on our race car:
1998 Neon (Was originally a Sohc manual highline coupe)
Dohc motor out of a stratus
3.94 manual transmission
One of our local customers gave this car to us as a shell, and we assembled the car ourselves (well, mainly with the skill of our Neon engine expert employee Charles!)
Anyways, onto pictures of our car. It will be undergoing some changes in the next few weeks and we’ll do our best to keep you updated on it!

Whats wrong with this picture ? Why does it seem like the fenders are bulging out as if our car is a widebody race car ?
Its because our car was pummeled by another Lemons racer who crashed into our car!!
If this was my personal Neon, Id be furious, but its ok, its our Lemons race car and its a $500 race car!
Its no show stopper, but its a great race car!

Stock header along with a Moroso spiral flow muffler welded onto it to help quieten it down
