Remove MPx pulley from 95-05 Neon/SRT4/ as well as Replacement belt info

We get a good amount of calls from people who want to know how to remove their MPx pulley to do a timing belt job, etc on their 95-05 Neons and SRT4’s.
So, we have gotten some specs and information on the pulley removal, as well as information on belt sizes for replacement.

Here is a photo of a MPx crank pulley, along with a bolt that would be used to thread into the pulley. You’d typically want to use a steering wheel puller along with three bolts to remove the crank pulley.

The pulleys use either of two sizes:

  • (sae) 5/16 -18 bolt
  • (metric) m8 -1.25 bolt

There are three bolts, and you’ll need to check for how long of a bolt you’d need to use with the puller you have on hand.

    Here is replacement belt information:

  • 03-05 Dodge SRT4 Power steering/AC belt 5040525 Alternator belt 5040315
  • 95-99 Dodge/Plymouth Neon Power steering/AC belt 15460 Alternator belt 5040320
  • 00-05 Dodge Neon Power steering/AC belt 5040500 Alternator belt 5040305

For those of you who dont have Air Conditioning, we dont have specs on what belt sizes you’d need to use as its very rare for us in Houston, Texas to ever come across a car without AC.
